Ph.D. in Biorobotics
Postdoctoral Researcher at TU Delft's MAVLab - The Netherlands
I am postodoctoralresearcher at the Micro Air Vehicle Laboratory (MAVLab) of the Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands). I successfully defended my Ph.D. at the Institute of Movement Sciences Etienne-Jules Marey (Aix Marseille University / CNRS), the purpose of which focused on the robotics applications of autonomous navigation inspired by insects like desert ants. My research goal is to design new models for the processing of visual information in navigating insects (bees, crickets, desert ants), and then test these models on-board robotic artifacts (legged robots, rovers, drones). The potential outcomes of my work are twofold: (1) improve the understanding of insects visual-based navigation models by providing entomologists with unique data from real-world experiments, and (2) develop disruptive and non-conventional autonomous navigation systems endowed with inherent parsimony and robustness for both indoor and outdoor applications.
